Ready for an epic winter adventure? If you've ever wanted to dogsled, shred the slopes, learn glass-blowing, or witness the breathtaking Northern Lights, then you’ve heard the call of the wild! There’s a reason that the Yukon has been calling adventurers, artists, and survivalists for hundreds of years. Now’s your chance to find out for yourself!
The last days of winter in the Yukon have always carried a magical, almost mythical meaning for people all over the world. While winters can be viewed as harsh in the Land of the Midnight Sun, they are also a time of great beauty and excitement for Yukoners. We’ve designed this Gen Z Northern Lights Experience to introduce winter thrill-seekers to the Yukon’s awesome winter activities while emphasizing leadership and life-skills training that will stay with you for the rest of your life.
Dive into winter sports at the Canada Games Centre, Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club (there is free baking at the ski lodge on Sundays) and Mt. Sima Ski Hill, all beloved local fixtures in northern life.
Dogsled through a winter wonderland as you chase the Northern Lights… over the frozen rivers and through the black spruce forests. You’ll bond with your dog team and move through the landscape in an entirely new way.
Experience Northern arts and culture by touring local art galleries and participating in a glass-blowing workshop at Lumel Studios, where you will get the chance to personally craft your own glass sculpture and bring it home.
See Yukon wildlife in winter mode, including bison, arctic foxes, moose, and muskoxen (the crocodile of the tundra, find out why) more at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve
